Structure of the transition work from school to university at German universities to increase the number of students, particularly in STEM related fields
As part of a cumulative dissertation I want to investigate whether
and how German universities have established strategies at the
transition between school to college and what organizational
structures they have in this regard.
For this purpose, based on a qualitative empirical analysis in the form of expert interviews, the organizational structures should be explored, that are used to account the effective interest development of pupils / students for STEM courses. It examines the extent to which organizational structures and their anchoring are strategically anchored in the universities in the higher education system. From this I would derive best-practice examples and recommendations.
Through the perspective of university management, the research provides new impetus for the promotion of systematic recruitment particularly for STEM courses at German universities and universities. Here, the work focusses on the organizational structures within the universities and the associated potentials and synergies.
